This week I went to the podiatrist to get fitted for some orthodics and I had another missionary experience.
When the doctor came in he asked me why I wanted orthodics now at this time in my life. I told him I was going on a mission for my church and that I wanted to be comfortable in shoes. He asked me "What church do you belong to?" I said, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." He said, "That's the thing a church has to believe in Christ." I replied, "Hence the name the Chruch of Jesus Christ...." Then he said, "Well then there is that Joseph Smith thing." and I responded yes Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ." He thought that was a little hard to believe because then it would mean all other religions are wrong. and I replied, If it's not true than "woe is me" but if it is true "woe is those other churches'"." He then said, "Well then there is that polygamy thing, but I suppose they had that in the Old Testament but I never understood that." Then I said, "Well why would the Lord tell people to do that? It's because he needs seed raised up to himself so he asks us to do polygamy."
He was done fitting me for the orthodics and he really didn't have anything else to say. I think I gave him food for thought. When I told Don about it he said I should take a Book of Mormon with me when I pick up the orthodics and give it to him. I think I will.
Recently I had a missionary experience when I went to get my hair cut at Cost Cutters
They seem to have someone new each time I go in there. This time I was talking with the hairdresser and she said she had a 3 year old. I said that is a challenging age but so much fun. She agreed and then told me that her daughter asked her where she came from and she thought she meant how she was born. Her daughter said no not that when did I come from before I came here. She said How do you answer a question like that. I said, "I know the answer." And she said, "What is it?' I explained that her daughter lived with Heavenly Father before she came here to this earth and that the reason she came to this earth was to be tried and tested to see if she would follow after him. She said, "That is such a good answer, what religion are you." I replied,"I'm a Mormon and the thing I love best about my religion is that I have come to know my Savior Jesus Christ more personally." She was impressed. I wonder where this experience is of those encounters she has had with The Church. They say the statistics are that most people need 7 such experiences.

Georgia this was so good. I got goose bumps reading. You are so brave and an example to me. Sometimes I just keep quiet when I have an easy way to speak up and share my beliefs.
